Charleston in under its third tornado watch this spring. To understand what a big deal this is you need to know that one watch would have made headlines several years ago.
Three tornadoes touched down in Charleston County last month and it's not even hurricane season yet.
Update: Hail is falling. That's not a good thing.
Update to the update: The storm passed and the house is still standing,.
We had a good bit of thunder and some rain, up here in Moncks Corner.
I hope the hail damage was very minimal.

We have some rain and breeze, but don't get that "exciting" weather stuff. Please tell me that you're not wearing your shorts in the hail!

I'm glad it didn't hit and you only had hail.
The weather throughout the world these days is truly scary.

You get more hail West Ashley than I do on the peninsula. On the other hand I get more flooding. :(

Mike, do you have a safe (relatively speaking, considering what a tornado can do) place for you and Champ and Psycho or do we need to worry about you until November?

Only one tornado today, in St. Stephen, north of Charleston. Lots of hail reports around town.
Margaret, I've been wearing shorts for months.
Sharon, it's called the crawl space under the house.

Guy that was running our skysuit during the Family Circle Cup said he had just left the structure about 20 mins before one of those tornadoes you refered to hit it. Granted it only picked up the "tent" a couple of feet and only minor damage, but still had to be scary (especially when you think it does have to move it that much for it to go "over the side of the stadium and crash 100 feet down)

Well, I'd hope that there would be room for me in this "safe place" as well... considering I live here, too. HOWEVER, if that place does, in fact, happen to be the crawl space under the house, you can count me OUT!!! Spiderlicious probably doesn't even begin to describe it. Ewww!

I think the builder who designed our home was brilliant. They installed lighting in the crawlspace! Now, I just have to get up the guts to replace the lightbulbs. Eek!

What's wrong with combining shorts and hailstones?

Nothing, Nettie. I've done it twice in recent weeks.
