Since I'm usually slow on the uptake I have no idea how long meme propagation tests have been floating around the b'sphere, but I came across two of them this morning. Evidently Chasing Daisy passed along the old one. Doc is pushing the new one.
I have no idea what, if anything, these tests hope to prove, other than that bloggers will fall for any meme that comes along. (I can picture a lonely geek teenager sitting in his bedroom and laughing his ass off as he follows the progress of his latest joke.)
What I'll find most fascinating is how the meme changes over time. I feel sure we've all done this before. We've been at a party (usually where strong drink was being served) where someone was given a quote and told to whisper it to the person sitting next to him/her. That person then whispers it to the next person in line, who whispers it to the next person, who whispers it to the next person, etc. By the time it reaches the last person, the message is very different than the original version.
Notice the subtle changes that happened in just two steps between Chasing Daisy and Solonor.
Given how many bloggers there are in the world, it won't be long before the meme says "Mike really is a nice guy."
I don't really have a problem with dumping all that gobbledy-gook on a page. But I don't see why you have to yield up info about yourself.
Like you that vision of the teenager gasping for breath from laughing so hard was my first thought. But then I still pick up a copy of 2600 ( http://www.2600.com/ ) every few months and ruin my eyesight trying to read that eensy teensy typestyle they use.

See, it's an EXPERIMENT. It's not a waste of time or a geekboy thing or nuthin'... it's for SCIENCE... and, um, stuff.
Ok, so I was bored. Are you happy now?
