Hanna notes (because I've got nothing better to do)

The wind picked up considerably about an hour ago and the first of many squall lines just crossed the coast.

Hanna wasn't upgraded to a Category 1 hurricane at the 11 AM update.  It's still possible.

The airport is planning on closing at 5 PM. The bridges will probably be closed around then, too.  If you aren't where you a supposed to be you may want to think about getting there.  We have lots of bridges.

I managed to cut the grass after taking Champ for his walk this morning.  I didn't bother sweeping up the grass clippings and leaf debris from the sidewalk when I was done.  Hanna seems to be doing a good job at that right now.  She might as well make herself useful.

I'm thinking of marketing a t-shirt for natives and long-time residents that says, "I rode out Hugo.  This is a just a minor inconvenience."

Psycho knows that something is up.  He voluntarily came in at 11 and is hiding in the kitchen.

Four years ago there were only a few of us blogging Gaston.  Today there are dozens.  I don't tweet but I feel sure that Twitter is tweeting more than a canary on crack.

Last night Ms. Hilda told me that she and the 25 lbs of pure evil she calls a cat were going to the shelter at the Coliseum this morning.  So far she hasn't.  I'll check on her soon.

Briar and Isaac are under a Tropical Storm watch in New York.  Hanna should be there early Sunday morning.

If you have nothing better to do check back periodically for updates.  I'll keep it up until the power goes out.  (If a couple of hours go by without an update, the power went out.)  If things actually get exciting and I can't post I'll phone Allan and he can post the update for me.

That is why I have a generator... TV, Cable, and Internet. Who needs more?

It's not worth it for me. You are more likely to lose power in the winter than I am in the summer. Plus, given my track record with a vacuum cleaner, I'd probably short something out and burn the house down.

You've got my number.

Will the Cable stay in a widespread outage?

I always have phone service during a power outage (Knology is my phone carrier) so evidently cable has never gone down when power did.
