In a recent comment thread Lisa suggested that we could "do a picnic" for the next Lowcountry Blogger meet-up. Joan seconded the idea. If it's a word, I'll third it. I have few talents but packing a killer picnic basket is one of them*. Since we seem to rule by consensus, what do you all think? After Labor Day at Hampton, Waterfront, or James Island Park? Chime in.
*As an example of my talent - grilled and sliced honey-dijon chicken with Boston lettuce and sliced cluster tomatoes on focaccia, chilled asparagus with curried mayo, sliced oranges with an orange juice, lemon juice, olive oil, honey and dijon mustard dressing, and a slightly fruity but unpretentious Napa Valley Chardonnay. Crystal, linen napkins, and sterling flatware are a given. Candles if it's after dark.
Wow.

My sentiments exactly, Pam.

Oh, I'm drooling.
You expect me to wait two months after posting that menu? You are a cruel man.

Ooo, I like the idea of something picnic-y. Maybe something pot-luck picnic-y perhaps. JICP might be a good spot. There are picnic shelters to keep the sun (or rain) off that we can use. And everyone can meet my dogs!

Okay, but no one will be able to wear white if it's after Labor Day...
I'll bring the fried bologna and beer...

That sounds great, and what a picnic basket.

I don't know about doing that for a blog meet, but I'm thinking of asking you out on a date!
I'm kidding of course, I think a picnic would be great. Some place scenic for the newbies mayhaps?

Wow! And I thought I was the Picnic Queen. I'll be there.
James Island does have some nice shelters near the water. I noticed them the time I went with my daughter and the dingo.

April, that was my first thought, too.
Hey Mike, can I hire you to teach my husband a thing or two? The only thing better than incredible food is incredible food I didn't have to prepare.

I am Sooooo hungry!

I will come with you anywhere on a picnic. I am a sucker for all that stuff, except the wine. Could you throw in a couple of Yuenglings?

A picnic sounds like a great idea. I just threw a comment on the Monday Roundup to that effect as well. Charleston Blog-nic info forthcoming! :)
