That's because it was for owners only, not the dogs. The instructor phoned me yesterday to tell what to bring with me today (notebook, pen, vaccination certificates). My first impression of him was, "What an obnoxious asshole!" It turns out that he's not as obnoxious as I thought, but close. (He's from New York, which may explain part of it.) He's also very full of himself. He'd have you believe that he's God's gift to dogs. He's not the kind of person I have much truck with and no doubt my lower lip will be bleeding 5 weeks from now because I've bitten it so much. At least he knows what he is like. He said that some of us may hate him by the end of the course but that he doesn't care.
Champ and I have homework to do this week. Simple things with either a whistle or a clicker. Since Champ is so hard-headed I prefer a whistle but Superpetz has only clickers. First on my to-do list tomorrow is a quick trip to the nearby Dick's Sporting Goods.
I'll keep you informed as this comedy unfolds.
I'm eager to hear how you and Champ do. I think it's time for a refresher course for Barney.

I have a Dog Trainer friend who swears by shock collar training.

I need to take my dogs to obedience class, but don't know where the best classes are. I'll keep reading to see how you and Champ are doing, and maybe it will motivate me.
