Yes he knew I was taking his picture, thus the back view. Had he been pissed, though, his ears would have been laid back almost flat. Trust me, I know.

Hmmm. Judging from the pears in my kitchen, I'd say Bosc. A beautiful specimen of the rare black-striped bosc. The floor is pretty, but the door caught my eye; what's visible in the photo looks just like the old fir doors in our 1908 Seattle house.

He's more a Kliban than any sort of pear, in my opinion. I have pictures of his twin that will have to appear on my blog sometime soon.
